A career flow as narrated by Ar. Nina Korah Jacob

1973
A portfolio of sketches, and an interview got me into School of
Architecture and Town Planning, Chennai.
1978
5 years of intense ideating, dreaming, pursuing the idea of architecture and armed with a passionate belief in making a positive difference to other peoples life, I joined Sanon Sen and Associates
 Calcutta, as an intern.
1980
Walked into Kumar Group in Kochi, joined as Architect.
It was a steep learning curve under Ar. Gopakumar, one time
boss and constant friend.
1984
Started Suvarnarekha Design Consultants from my guest bedroom,
with one part-time employee and a few brave clients. This was a
fantastic learning experience for me.
1988
Life took me to the town of Kottayam. Life was full with bringing
up 2 beautiful children and building a house on a hill,
while running my office in the basement of our home.
1994
Persuaded by Jabeen Zacharias to join School of Design Kottayam
as a teacher. Another learning curve and an opportunity to give back
 to society.
Summing up, to quote Maya Lim: “Even though I build buildings and I pursue my Architecture, I pursue it as an artist, I deliberately keep a tiny office. I don’t want to be only an Architectural firm; I want to also be an artist”.
Member: Indian Green Building Council.
Recipient of the ‘Outstanding lady Entrepreneur Award 2003’.
